Itinerary

Morning Pickup from Arusha
After an early breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and set off for Kilimanjaro National Park’s Marangu Gate, approximately a one-hour drive. Along the way, your guide will share stories and insights about Kilimanjaro and the cultures surrounding this famous mountain.

Arrival at Marangu Gate and Begin the Ascent
Upon arrival, we’ll register at the park and prepare for the journey ahead. Starting from an altitude of 1,860 meters (6,100 feet), the trail begins with a gradual ascent through lush rainforest, where towering eucalyptus trees, colorful birdlife, and playful black-and-white Colobus monkeys welcome you to this enchanting landscape. Your guide will set a relaxed pace, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and take photos along the way.

Reach Mandara Hut
After 3-4 hours of hiking, we’ll reach Mandara Hut, situated at 2,700 meters (8,875 feet). Here, we’ll pause for a well-deserved lunch. For those interested, we’ll take a short side trek to Maundi Crater, where panoramic views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya await. This vantage point provides breathtaking sights of Kilimanjaro’s surrounding landscapes, a perfect opportunity to reflect on the beauty of East Africa.

Descent and Return to Arusha
Following lunch, we’ll begin our descent, enjoying the serene forest scenery one last time. After 2-3 hours, we’ll arrive back at Marangu Gate, where a vehicle awaits to bring us back to Arusha. We’ll return to your hotel by early evening, with memories of Kilimanjaro’s magic that will last a lifetime.
