Your journey begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the main international gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. From here, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari representative and transferred to Arusha, a lively tourism city resting beneath the impressive slopes of Mount Meru. Your first evening offers time to relax, recover from your flight and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Before entering Tanzania’s famous national parks, you will experience the refreshing beauty of Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs. Hidden among fig trees and palms in the Kilimanjaro countryside, this crystal clear natural pool offers the perfect place to swim, relax and enjoy a slower introduction to Tanzania. Its turquoise water, leafy surroundings and peaceful rural setting create a beautiful contrast to the wildlife adventures that follow.
From the springs, your safari journey takes you into Arusha National Park, a compact but remarkably diverse wilderness covering approximately 552 square kilometres. Here, Mount Meru rises above montane forest, open grasslands, the colourful Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. Giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks and black and white colobus monkeys are among the animals you may encounter.
The landscape changes dramatically as you continue to Tarangire National Park, covering approximately 2,850 square kilometres. Tarangire is famous for enormous baobab trees, large elephant populations and the life giving Tarangire River. Its savannahs, river valleys and seasonal wetlands provide excellent habitats for lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras and hundreds of bird species.
Your adventure then leads into the legendary Serengeti National Park, a vast wilderness covering approximately 14,763 square kilometres. You will travel toward Central Serengeti, where endless grasslands, acacia woodland, river systems and granite kopjes create some of Africa’s most celebrated safari scenery.
With a full day dedicated to Central Serengeti, you will have time to explore the famous Seronera region at a comfortable pace. Permanent water sources attract resident wildlife throughout the year, creating excellent opportunities to search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and large herds of grazing animals.
Your safari reaches another unforgettable highlight at the Ngorongoro Crater, an extraordinary volcanic caldera covering approximately 260 square kilometres. After descending roughly 600 metres from the crater rim, you enter a natural wildlife sanctuary where lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, elephants and the rare black rhinoceros may be encountered.
After your crater safari, you will spend your final night in the beautiful green highlands of Karatu, surrounded by farms, forests and rolling hills.
